The driver of a vehicle that struck a guard rail last week has been accused of being impaired.
Sault Ste. Marie Police were called to Wellington Street East at East Street at around midnight last Friday.
Upon speaking with the driver, officers suspected he may be impaired by alcohol.
Police say breath samples registered above the legal limit.
Wyatt Swire, 21, has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Dangerous Operation
- Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero (under the Highway Traffic Act)
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
