Driver charged after vehicle crashes into traffic light

A Little Current resident is facing charges

A Little Current resident is being accused of driving impaired after a vehicle crashed into traffic lights last weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Trunk Road and Highway 17 at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 11.

Sault Ste. Marie Police say once they spoke with the driver, they suspected he had been drinking. 

Police said multiple breath samples registered above the legal limit.

Adam Madahbee, 42, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
  • Dangerous Operation

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
