Officers with the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police arrested a third person today in connection with the stabbing in Elliot Lake.
On May 9, at approximately 7:30 p.m. police were called to assist paramedics with a male in medical distress in a wooded area between Tokyo Crescent and Paris Drive.
The male was transported to hospital with knife wounds and remains in stable condition. An altercation took place at a Tokyo Crescent residence between numerous people that resulted in one of the males being assaulted with a knife.
On May 11, two people were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Police located and arrested a third person that they believe was involved.
Michael Prevost, 35-years-old, of Elliot Lake, has been charged with aggravated assault
Prevost is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on May 13.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and both accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
